The Fruitz performed convincingly at Koe Soitto! music review

May 12, 2026

The Fruitz, a group of pupils from the Turku Conservatory of Music, reached the final of the music competition organised by the youth services of Kaarina, Naantali and Raisio. The competition took place on Friday 8 May in the Naantali sports hall. Five bands took part in the competition event.

The feedback The Fruitz received from the jury was very positive, not to say laudatory. The band’s interplay, song selection and stage presence impressed both the jury and the audience.

The history of The Fruitz goes back to 2018. The band was born during a band coaching session led by Karri Kerkelä and Markus Rantanen. The line-up has of course changed and grown over the years, but the band still has two original members, drummer Kalle and bassist Kosti. Besides Kosti and Kalle, Vasco (vocals), Daniel (vocals), Henrik (guitar), Kristian (guitar) and Kasper (drums/keyboards) play in this seven-piece band.

In addition to The Fruitz, the musicians of the conservatory also participated in the final of the review as part of the band Terminal Force. Terminal Force is a relatively new four-piece band that plays punk rock and original songs. The band’s tight riffing impressed the jury.

All finalists will be rewarded with a gig in St. Karins and the surrounding area as well as their own recording and coaching in the autumn of 2026. We look forward to seeing The Fruitz and Terminal Force on future gigs and recordings.
