Kitarissimo!’s tour of the stone churches 2026–2027

The Turku Conservatoire’s adult guitar orchestra, Kitarissimo!, is embarking on a concert tour that will run throughout the academic year, taking them to the old stone churches of Western Finland. The orchestra will perform in the churches of Lieto, Rymättylä, Raisio and Maaria, and will hold a Christmas concert at the Taidekappeli on Hirvensalo. The rich and colourful sound is created by the orchestra’s resonant octave guitars and the deep tones of the double-bass guitars. The programme varies from concert to concert, but J. S. Bach’s great Passacaglia and Fugue BWV 582 is always included. Other composers featured include Franz Schubert and Henry Purcell. Admission to the concerts is free.
