Monday Jazz Happening: Joonas Tuuri Quartet
Monday 11.05.2026 klo 19.00
Rica Bar (Kristiinankatu 5b, ) | Free entrance
Joonas Tuuri Quartet is a jazz ensemble founded in 2017. The group’s music is rhythmically rich and expressive, drawing inspiration from Brazilian jazz, with all compositions written by Tuuri himself. At the heart of the music are beautiful and memorable melodies, engaging rhythms, strong moods, and a finely honed sense of ensemble playing and improvisation. Building on this foundation, the quartet has developed a distinctive artistic voice, where sensitive communication between the musicians gives the band its personal sound.
The band’s debut album Dimensions was released in 2022 via Eclipse Music and has received significant international attention on Spotify and YouTube. The track November has already accumulated over four million streams—an exceptional figure for a jazz artist releasing music through an independent label—making the group possibly the most streamed individual jazz act in Finland. The ensemble’s second album, Pindorama, was released in autumn 2025, also via Eclipse Music.
