Turku’s own drummer Veikka Kajamies will be joined by a trio of young jazz musicians, including vibraphone legend Severi Pyysalo and soulful trumpet virtuoso Gunu Karjalainen. This quintet will perform positively swinging atmospheric music at Rica Bar’s Monday Jazz Happening on 22.9.2025 at 19:00 – effortlessly combining the most interesting currents of modern mainstream jazz with a tradition that dates back decades. Before the evening show, the band will hold open rehearsals on the same day 22.9. at 13-15.30 at the Turku Conservatory. The event will provide an excellent window into how a professional band effectively rehearses a cedar of music to performance in a couple of hours, while answering questions from the audience and sharing their thoughts on musicianship and everything else that comes up.
