During the concert, you’ll hear new Finnish art songs composed by living composers. The lyrics for these new compositions draw inspiration from both traditional and contemporary poetry – the words may be old, but the music is very much of the present day. Come and experience an exciting cross-section of what’s happening right now in Finnish art song!

Composers: Janne Salmenkangas, Marian Kubanda, Lauri Kujari, Maleena Linjama, Robert Ruohola, Kuura Klaavu, Pauliina Isomäki, Carita Holmström, Antti Kujari, Otto Nuoranne, Arttu Punkkinen, Flora Kok.

Concert planning: Pia Pajala, Pasi Helin and Niina Ranta

The participants include students from the Turku Conservatoire’s undergraduate degree programmes in the arts and vocational training, students from the Academy of Fine Arts, teachers at the Conservatoire, and the Academy of Fine Arts’ chamber pianist, Jussi Littunen.

Free admission; running time approx. 1 hour and 30 minutes. The concert includes an interval.
