Job vacancies: vacancies for music directors
Turun konservatorio Oy is seeking instructors for various instruments for the ‘Taidekeskus koulussasi’ programme for the period 24 August 2026–30 June 2027. There are currently vacancies for teachers of piano, flute and saxophone specialising in pop music, but there may also be a need for teachers of other instruments. Proficiency in one or more other instruments is considered an advantage for applicants.
The music leader works in Turku schools after the school day has ended. The programme can be described as stimulating pedagogy, a potential step towards basic arts education. The programme is not governed by any curriculum; instead, the content is tailored to each participant’s individual starting point.
The instructor must possess sufficient expertise, acquired through personal interests, study or work experience, as well as the ability to work with children and young people. In practice, this involves one one-to-one music lesson per week, 26 times per pupil during the school year.
The teacher must undertake to follow a regular weekly schedule. The salary is €23.29 per hour. The salary is paid in accordance with the number of hours worked. Other terms of employment are determined in accordance with the HTP section of the collective agreement for the private education sector. A six-month probationary period applies at the start of employment. The number of hours may vary depending on the season.
Before any employment contract is signed, you must provide your employer with the extract from the criminal records register required for people working with children and young people.
